Hot the ps2 NA - now about this IDE connector...

    Ok so the Network adapter has an IDE connecter, a power connector and is labled HDD. In the manual it is listed as an HDD data connector. So the official Sony hard drive will probably just be the actual hard drive and a driver disk (if that much).

    So how long till someone figures out how to add your own - if there is anything beyond plugging one in...

    I think the Sony HDD is specially designed to work with the PS2, as are the drivers that come with it. I'm not quite sure you can just add one on.

    The HD will probably be a standard IDE drive with no mods to the circuit board. I'll bet it's the drivers that write a different file system to the HD.

    It would be nice to just pop an extra HD into the unit.

    if someone can find a mod that would eliminate the need for a memory card, I'm all over that! Hate buying memory cards...
