Hi all,

Please excuse me if this question has been asked before (my searches have not yielded any hits). I have a Denon DVD-1600 DVD player hooked up to a Mitsubishi 65511 HDTV. I am wondering whether it is OK to "hot" switch progessive scan.... by "hot" I mean while a DVD is playing, or at least when the TV is monitoring a given input. My concern is that the Mitsu TV is expecting a given signal (say, 480p), and has the appropriate circuitry engaged. If the signal is suddenly changed to 480i, can that damage anything in the TV? What about the DVD player?

Thanx!

My TV nor my DVD plater have suffered no adverse effects from changing from 480p to 480i and vice versa repeatedly (while trying to see the big deal about 480p).
