I have microsoft Router hooked to my PC and XBXO, and I was wondering, can you host XBOX games without having a problem? I know when I used to try to host PC games I would have a problem due to the Nat/Firewall.
Are there any ports that have to be open or is the XBOX good to go?

I am talking about hosting games just using your XBOX on XBOX Live.
Do you have to do anything special if you have a router to be able to host a game?

I host through a Linksys router with no problems. The router has NAT and there is no opening of ports or anything special I have to do.

Ok. Thanks for the response. I didn't want to open up a room and cause everyone to lose connections, etc like when I have attempted to host games using my PC.

You can run into some issues, even if you don't need to open any ports. MechAssault's dropping issues has been blamed on incompatible hardware by it's developers, and some people have had problems with the voice communication behind the router in some games.
