I should mention some sad news: The producer of this film, Ray Stark, has died at the age of 88.

Looks like Region 2 is getting the Special Edition in widescreen.

Well, marketing research shows that families in Region 2 want widescreen, while families in Region 1 only want fullscreen.

Sony in general is just going down hill. I'm very disappointed in that company.

That sucks. Why can't the US get a widescreen release? Sony is just out of touch with the consumer. I have seen these sitting on a shelf for weeks at Wal*Mart. Not a single one has been sold.
