:emoji_thumbsup: = Good film.
:emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: = An absolute favorite!
:thumbsdown: = Bad film.
:thumbsdown: :thumbsdown: = A film I hate with a passion.

Dome Vongvises
Halloween- :emoji_thumbsup: Good film, but overrated, and not one of Carpenter's top films.
Suspiria- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: Argento's greatest film! A true masterpiece on just about every level!
The Exorcist- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: Not scary, but that doesn't mean its not a stellar film.
Evil Dead II: Dead by Dawn- :emoji_thumbsup:
The Devil's Backbone- :emoji_thumbsup: Good film that may become a favorite.
Tenebre- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: This masterpiece is neck and neck with PHENOMENA for Argento's second best film.
The Uninvited- it's okay.
Nosferatu- :emoji_thumbsup: Good, but not as great as some say.
Deep Red- :emoji_thumbsup: Argento's only overrated film, and its still quite good.
The Burning- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: Easily one of the best slashers!
Below- :emoji_thumbsup:
Dagon- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: The best Lovecraft adaptation to date!

vs.

Bill McA
The Shining- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: A majestic classic.
Eraserhead- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: Just one of Lynch's many masterpieces.
Carrie- :emoji_thumbsup: Good, but a tad overrated.
The Omen- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: Excellent satanic classic!
Don't Look Now- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: A beautifully shot, well acted, and very eerie masterpiece!
Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: One of the more disturbing horror gems.
The Devils- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: Needs an uncut release!
Flesh for Frankenstein- :emoji_thumbsup: It's growing on me more and more.
The Hunger- :thumbsdown: :thumbsdown: Sorry, but this film is awful.
The Company of Wolves- :thumbsdown: Not a fan.
Horror of Dracula- :emoji_thumbsup:
The Reflecting Skin- :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup: An overlooked and very underrated masterpiece!

Despite both having some masterpieces, Bill's list contains some duds, while Dome's contains none, so I vote for Dome.

Re-Animator--:emoji_thumbsup:*Good
Cronos--haven't seen
Island of Lost Souls--haven't seen
The Fearless Vampire Killers--:emoji_thumbsup:* Good spoof
Phantasm--:emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup:* A favorite!
Lair of the White Worm--:emoji_thumbsup:* Underseen gem
Scarecrows--:emoji_thumbsup: Another underseen, underrated gem
The Creature From the Black Lagoon--:emoji_thumbsup:* Probably my favorite classic monster flick.
The Wolf Man--:emoji_thumbsup:*
Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979)--haven't seen

Gabe D

Rosemary's Baby--:emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Polanski's triumph
Psycho--:emoji_thumbsup: Not my favorite Hitchcock, but still top-notch.
Army of Darkness--:emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: the second best in the series
The Sixth Sense--:emoji_thumbsup:* Good*
The Others--:emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: A new favorite
The Silence of the Lambs--:thumbsdown:* Overrated and boring
Poltergeist--:emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup:* My favorite haunted house/ghost movie
Frailty--:emoji_thumbsup:* Good
American Psycho--:emoji_thumbsup:* Good
The Ring (2002)--:emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Another new favorite
Bram Stokers Dracula--even
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)--:emoji_thumbsup:* Good movie. I liked the remake better, though.

Two more outstanding lists. I hate having to vote against one that includes both Dawn and Phantasm, but since Gabe has more favorites, I'll have to give him the nod.

I'll abstain if Gabe does. :)

My thoughts on his list:

Rosemary's Baby :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:
Psycho - Borderline "horror" film, but very good nonetheless.
Army of Darkness - Even. Fun, but...
The Sixth Sense :emoji_thumbsup:
The Others :emoji_thumbsup:
The Silence of the Lambs - Ditto my opinon of Psycho.
Poltergeist :emoji_thumbsup:
Frailty - Even. Ditto my opinion of Psycho.
American Psycho - Haven't seen.
The Ring (2002) - Even.
Bram Stokers Dracula :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956) - Great sf/horror hybrid. :emoji_thumbsup: :emoji_thumbsup:

Not too shabby! :)

Dawn of the Dead- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Spectacular film, but DAY is still the best.
Freaks- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup:
Re-Animator- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Outstanding film, and David Gale rules in it!
Cronos- :emoji_thumbsup: Good Del Toro effort.
Island of Lost Souls- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Great film that isn't mentioned often.
The Fearless Vampire Killers- :emoji_thumbsup: Groovy little Polanski film.
Phantasm- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Great, but I think the sequels are even better.
Lair of the White Worm- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Underrated Russell pic!
Scarecrows- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: A very rare and underseen film, and its creepy as hell too!
The Creature From the Black Lagoon- :emoji_thumbsup: Easily the best of the Universal classics!
The Wolf Man- :emoji_thumbsup: Good, but not amazing.
Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979)- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Better than Murneau's film if you ask me.

vs.

Gabe D
Rosemary's Baby- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Polanki's epic, and besides PRINCE OF DARKNESS, this is the greatest Satanic film of all time! It is also one of my top 10 favorite films of all time.
Psycho- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Great film, but I think the fantastic THE BIRDS is even better.
Army of Darkness- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Maybe my favorite of the series.
The Sixth Sense- :emoji_thumbsup: Good, but extremely overrated.
The Others- :emoji_thumbsup: Interesting gothic horror. Amenbar is a very talented newcomer!
The Silence of the Lambs- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Excellent horror/drama hybrid.
Poltergeist- :thumbsdown::thumbsdown: Putrid excuse for entertainment.
Frailty- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Brilliant film!
American Psycho- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Wonderful horror/satire!
The Ring (2002)- :emoji_thumbsup: Can't touch the original, but it's good.
Bram Stokers Dracula- :thumbsdown: Not good.
Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)- :emoji_thumbsup::emoji_thumbsup: Excellent film, but not quite the masterpiece that Kaufman's 1978 remake is.

I have to vote for Gabe here.

Another 2 good lists.
Gabe's list is strong on atmosphere and the supernatural :emoji_thumbsup:, and Steve's list shows a strong appreciation of the golden age of horror :emoji_thumbsup: ...but Gabe made my choice easy with the inclusion of 2 films that I don't like.

Since Steve didn't vote, neither will I. My thoughts on his list:

Dawn of the Dead - Liked it a lot.
Freaks - Love it.
Re-Animator - Really love it, wish it was on my list.
Cronos - Haven't seen it yet.
Island of Lost Souls - Good pick.
The Fearless Vampire Killers - Like it a lot.
Phantasm - Liked it.
Lair of the White Worm - I didn't like it all that much, but I could try it again.
Scarecrows - Haven't seen it.
The Creature From the Black Lagoon - Good pick.
The Wolf Man - Good pick.
Nosferatu the Vampyre (1979) - Not bad, though I prefer Murnau's.

That's a solid list. :emoji_thumbsup:
