Horrible Theaters (1 Viewer)

It seems everytime I go to my local theater something is wrong. For one movie, the audio seemed to be low bandwidth mono. For Shrek, there was no audio from the right front. Today I went to go see Monsters Inc. The entire left bank of surround speakers was dead. Then, the lights in the theater flickered on and off intermitently for the whole movie. I wanted to complain after, but all I saw were High School kids chatting so I left. I guess I'll try the corporate phone line on Monday.
It's so much more enjoyable to watch movies on my Home Theater.
BTW The theater is the Cinemark Holywood 16 in College Station Texas.

Yep... my Loews blows. I've vowed, after four consecutive inexcusable visits, that I will not step foot in there again.

I can't say I have really experienced much of that sort of thing. I usually go to the Famous Players big-screen big sound theatres in my area and they are really good. Thos sound like major goofs.

I had a similar experience when I went to SW TPM. When the movie began I could immediately tell that something was wrong with the speakers. They were blown!

This place was barely two weeks old. It was specifically built to meet the new thx ex standards. I was later told that the speakers had been blown since the first showing of TPM.

Exactly! Bam! Right on the button! It's strange...but what are we actually paying for now with these crappy ticket prices? It's $8 where I have to go.
For instance, most movies I see at our local (2 year old) theater only seem to be in stereo. I rarely hear any audio behind me or to the sides.
I would rather buy a 5.1 DVD and watch it with my DD/DTS home theater system too!
