Hooking up PiP correctly? (1 Viewer)

My brother is trying to hook up pip to his new rptv. He has a hitachi not sure what model. If important I can get it. He has digital cable box, VCR,DVD player. What is the correct way to run cables/wires to get this to work properly? What setting does the vcr have to be on? Where does the split need to happen? I told his this forum is the best I'll have a answer for him tomorrow.

Is the RPTV a built in 2-tuner PIP or 1-tuner PIP? If it's a 2-tuner PIP there's really nothing special to do. Just hook your components up to the various TV inputs.

If it's a 1-tuner PIP, then you have to use another device (like a VCR) for the 2nd tuner.

I've got 2-tuner PIP on my 53" RPTV and 1-tuner PIP on my 36" and 27" tubes. The 1-tuner PIP is such a pain in the arse that I never use it.
