I want to use my receiver to control each video source. My receiver accepts Component Video. Should I run the HD source through my Receiver then to the TV, or should I just run the HD source straight to the TV? Does the receiver need to be able to support HD format or are the signals just passed right through back out the TV?

My receiver does not have DVI inputs/outputs. My HD source and TV do have DVI inputs/outputs. Should I leave the reciever out of the picture and connect the DVI directily to the TV or just use the component video through the receiver?

    Thanks,

I would run the HD directly to the TV and switch your lower resolution sources through the receiver if you want the convenience.
