Yes, I agree it's good news from WAC, in respect to a vintage '60s MGM Color TV Western, all be it only 17 episodes...it will be nice to have it complete and beautifully remastered...I've long had 12 episodes in my collection, and they stitched together 2 episodes to make up a feature length theatrical film Hondo and the Apaches for foreign markets...MGM screen legend Robert Taylor is in those two episodes, some of his last work, about the same time he hosted and occasionally appeared in Death Valley Days...Nick Adams also guest starred in 2 episodes, some of his very last screen work before his premature death...there are the usual great Western supporting players with Noah Beery Jr. being a regular...some unusual appearances like Farley Granger and Annette Funicello...it's a nice companion piece to the Shout release of The Westerner, as far as great sidekick performing dogs...Ralph Taeger is OK as Hondo, but he's no John Wayne...the lovely Kathie Browne is a real asset to this show...Hondo does feature some nice location filming in Old Tucson and surrounding Arizona scenery..

Kathie Browne had previously also played love interests for both Adam and Hoss Cartwright on Bonanza...here she is with Pernel Roberts in a publicity photo that was also a TV Guide cover story in 1964...

And of course in Star Trek's "Wink of an Eye"....

Nice but far from exciting me. Similar to Trials of Jamie McPheeters, the show ran endlessly through on TNT many times over. I would much prefer one of the dozens of series in the Warner vaults that haven't been run. Where's Warner Brothers Presents, which they hinted at when they started many years ago?

Why do you feel the necessity to come in and crap on threads by saying you're "not excited" or other similar verbage?

Looking forward to this release

Hondo was a good western series which deserved a longer run. Good production values, good scenery and good guest stars.

By all accounts its star, Ralph Taegar was a bit of an oddball according to some who worked with him. After he left acting he operated a timber company and may have served time for fraud , though details are a bit sketchy.

He also starred in the short lived western 'Klondike' (later Acapulco). Never seen the latter but Klondike, a ZIV series, was quite good and worthy of DVD release.

Not crapping on anything, just giving my opinion on the release, not on the quality of the show in question. Why do you feel the need to throw barbs at me after every post I make, benign or otherwise? Lucky for you I don't go crying to the moderators about it like some people here are always doing.

Nowdays it seems everything has to be 'politically correct' that some people object any commentary that doesn't necessarily uphold the merits of any release under discussion, unless it has nothing to do with the content: I, for one, couldn't really care less if a release is in 4:3 or was cut by 15 seconds, but, specially in relation to less known shows, I really appreciate some sort of discussion on its merits, and thus I appreciate Neil's usually candid comments in this area.

I don't throw barbs, nor do I "go crying" to the moderators. We're adults and I do believe we should be thick skinned and behave as such.

I remember watching HONDO on CBN back in the early 80's when my parents first got cable.
They always had westerns on Saturday and Sunday afternoons.

Day One Purchase for me.

Also found another episode that comes in under 49 minutes. I wonder if these are cut or just had shorter running times.
