I got a good buy on the Complete Seasons 1&2 set.
I've just started watching Season 1 of this amazing show.
Best cop show I've ever seen, by far.

I'm wondering why is it that there are only 13 episodes for the first 2 seasons? Did the show air once every 2 months?
Seems bizarre....

Thanks

It sorta came in as a mid-season replacement two years running, nine episodes in season one starting at the end of January 1993, then four throughout January 1994.

Why it wasn't a longer season, even as a mid-season replacement, in '94 is beyond me, though it's probably discussed in HLOTS: The Unofficial Companion by David Kalat. I read it awhile ago, just don't remember the particulars of why season 2 was so short.

This is one of those rare shows that was just too good. Critics loved it, but it just never could find an audience. If it wasn't for some NBC executive (don't recall who but he obviously had power) who loved the show, it probably would have disappeared much sooner than it did.
