The batteries in the remote for my Toshiba DVD HOME THEATER SYSTEM
SD-KT50SU, went dead. After I replaced them with new batteries and tried to start up the system, the "Hello" came up and then the word "PROTECTION", and then it said "GOODBY" and shut down. No matter how many times I tried to start it, it did the same thing. I can't find any reference in the manual for this behavior, so am at a loss.
Would appreciate any help in this matter.
    Thank you very much

Probably a short. Check all your connections to be sure there is no shorts. Try disconnecting all the speakers if you don't find anything shorted. If the unit still shuts off with out the speakers then the problem is internal.

    Post with your findings.
