“If it works” depends largely on the capabilities or limitations of your Philips set up.

If you have a separate DVD player, you won’t have any problems. Naturally, you can connect the speakers to you new Panasonic receiver. However, if the Philips has a built-in DVD player (I couldn’t find the MX3550 on Philip’s web site), then you may have a problem. Most all-in-one HTIB’s don’t have the digital and video outputs you’ll need.
