My HT room dimensions in the house I might buy are 12w x 22.5L but only 6.5High. Is this any cause for concern as far as acoustics are concerned? The room is fully enclosed if that matters. I would think this might be good, but I dont know. Need some opinions on this.

I’d say it’s not ideal (I prefer high ceilings myself) but what are you going to do? It’s not as if you can raise the ceiling or anything. I’d rather have a less-then-perfect home theater than none at all.

I have a 6'6" ceiling or so... it feels low when you first walk into the room, but, once you sit down on the couch, it feels like any other room.

    Todd,

If I were you I would try using the excel worksheet on this page. It may not be the "be all end all" of trying to figure out the acoustics, but it will give you a pretty good idea of where your problems are. And you might find that changing any one of the dimensions by just a few inches could mean better sound.

    Here is the website: http://cgi.guidetohometheater.com/cg...ldnews.cgi?388

    Good Luck,

    Rob

I think so. I have a drop ceiling with Armstrong acoustical 2'X 2' tiles.... and carpeting. So, the room is pretty dead, acoustically.

I am building a ht room where the ceiling is 7', I think you could do alright in there.
