Since grid.org isn't feeling the Mac love, you can put your PowerPC or Intel Mac processors to use on Stanford's Folding@Home distributed protein folding project. It's the same sort of goal...breaking down complex proteins in the hopes of finding cures for currently incurable diseases. They have teams you can join as well. Might want to look into one of the Mac-specific ones, like the one I belong to, TeamMacOSX.

BREAKING NEWS: GRID.ORG MISSION COMPLETE
On Friday, April 27, 2007, Grid.org announced it has completed its mission to demonstrate the viability and benefits of large-scale Internet-based grid computing, and will be retiring its famous efforts to support critical health research.
Grid.org was the largest and most ambitious public interest grid venture ever attempted, and thanks to Grid.org and its millions of members, dozens of similar global grid projects have been able to catch on and succeed by following its footsteps.
Thank you to all our members!
The excellent work Grid.org has done, both in contributing massive compute power to critical health research and in establishing this Internet-based model as beneficial, would not have been possible without the faith, efforts, and support of our millions of members worldwide. Thank you so much for your years of ongoing support!

Welcome GRID.ORG Members!
We are saddened to hear that grid.org is closing its doors. We do, however, firmly believe in the success of distributed computing technology, and welcome all participants who remain committed to the hunt for a cure for cancer.
Thanks again for helping us give back to the community. Working together, we all benefit!
The Compute Against Cancer® program (CAC) is designed to create immediate impact in the lives of cancer patients and their families today, while at the same time empowering the research that will result in improved therapies — and perhaps even the cure — for cancer in the future.

Hope to see some of you guys and girls there.
