Home Theater Direct II vs the competition (1 Viewer)

for those of you who don't know, I am purcahsing a home theater system for my sister and her soon to be husband as a wedding gift.
to go with their new 32" WEGA and Denon 1801 they are going to need speakers. i own energy e:xl 15's and are very pleased with them, so i was all set to get them energy take 5's.
however, i have been hearing great things about home theater direct III and i want to know if anyone has the II's?
let me know soon, the purchase is coming in two weeks.
oh, they don't need a sub, i guess i'll give them my M&K 12".
guess that means i'll have to settle for a new SVS

Geordy,
If nobody who owns the II's responds, you should go over to cheaphometheater.com and post the question there. The editors are big fans of the III's, and they could probably advise you on the sound of the II's.

I haven't heard any of the HTD speakers personally, but the reviews I have seen say the 3's are considerably better than the 2's, the 2's being unremarkable. FWIW.
