Hi everyone. I have a new Toshiba LCD flat-screen t.v. and I am looking to purchase a good surround sound audio system for it. I have a coupon for Best Buy (bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?id=abcat0203000&type=category), so I am looking to make my purchase there. I already have a blu-ray player which I will be using with the audio system, so it is not essential that the system include a DVD player. I have been thinking about purchasing the Yamaha YHT-390 (bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8743595&st=yamaha+ht-390&lp=1&type=product&cp=1&id=1202648988836). Is this a good unit? Would you guys recommend something? My budget is $300-400. Any and all suggestions/recommendations are highly appreciated. Please keep in mind that I do not know a great amount regarding the subject. The system you mention is ok for an entry level setup.
You won't be able to take advantage of the HD audio, from the Blu ray movies, but you can use regular Dolby Digital and DTS.

You can step up to the Yamaha RX-V663, and take full advantage of the Blu ray player you have. It costs more, but in the long run, is worth it. Of course, if you don't already have speakers, you'll need them too. So, it could end up costing a good bit more. If you have to save up for the better setup, you should be fine with the YHT-390, until you can do better.
