Home Depot speaker wire (1 Viewer)

Hi,
I just got some Home Depot 12 gauge speaker wire to test out on my speakers arriving next week. The wire consists of a copper-coloured conductor and a silver-coloured conductor. My question: is one of the conductors the positive conductor or can either one be the positive (and the other negative)?

You can use either wire for positive and negative, it's only there to help you keep track of it.

I use this cable, too, and there is also light printing on one of the conductors to help you keep track. Unfortunately, it is impossible to see in low-light, so make sure you have your mini-Maglite gripped firmly between your teeth when you start running cable.
