Homasote sound proofing....

    This product has been out for years and I have not seen it mentioned here before. I have used it to line speaker cabinets (purchased it from Home Depot), but has anyone used it for sound proofing an HT room? Here's the link:

    I used a similar product manufactured in Quebec called Sonopan. I has the same properties as Homeosote and worked extremely well in my HT. You must seal all joints with accoustic chaulking. I then used resilient channel and two layers of 1/2" drywall. The only sounds that escape this basement room are very low frequencies which can be felt in other parts of the house.
