OK. One of the holes in my Jet Li collection is Black Mask. Now I know that there was a Mei-Ah release, then the Artisan. Right now the Artisan is going for $10 at 800.com. Is there any reason not to get it for this price (aside from the script quality of the movie)?

it's been a long time since i've compared the two versions, but off of the top of my head:
    1. poor dub job
    2. hip hop soundtrack
    3. cut scenes
now, i don't have an aversion to hip hop or anything, but it's always a little funny when it's tacked on to a hk martial arts film.

ps. i do own both, as the u.s. version offers a much better picture.. [IMG]

I have it and I thought it was ok, I believe you can also get it out of Walmart for 10.00 and I think Best Buy had it for 9.99 as well. Certainly worth the price.

On the other hand, the HK DVD of this movie (released by Mei-Ah) is probably the worst DVD of my 700+ collection: burnt-in CHI and ENG subtitles, awful picture (dark scenes without any detail, bad compression job,...).
    A really crappy DVD !!!
