I am in the process of searching out our first HD DLP set. I have noticed all of these have HDMI. My AVR630 does not have HDMI, is that going to be an issue? And being that it does not would it be best to just bypass the video from the DishNetwork box directly to the HDTV I choose or go ahead and run it through the receiver along with the sound? Will there be any degradation of the video signal by doing this?

Thank you,

Jay

I currently have an old receiver JVC RX 6008V and a Panasonic 50" Plasma and all my video runs straight from either my DVD player or my DirectTV box not through my receiver and I'm plenty happy.

Also I think you chance losing more quality from running HDMI through the receiver than you do bypassing it unless the receiver has a very good upconverting feature which at this time can't do much better than what's coming into it.

That's my take from what I've been reading so take it with a grain of salt and research it some more.
