Which would you choose for great quality sound for HT and 2-channel audio? Is it a toss-up, or does one clearly outshine the other?

    Thanks

In addition, could anyone recommend a pair of speakers that would sound good with either unit?

    Thanks

Haven't heard the H/K so I can't compare. What I can tell you is that I recently purchased the T762 and absolutely loved the sound of the unit (upgraded from Sony STR-DA555ES). I've owned Sony, Pioneer and Kenwood in the past and the T762 is by far the best sounding unit I've ever owned - I listen to about 60/40 music/movies (mostly 2 ch CDs for music).

I have the HK 500 and love it for HT and 2 channel stereo. Got to have my jazz in two channel stereo, just a quirk I guess, any hoot the sound is warm not bright at all and it's plenty power for the speakers I use, Platinum Audio.
