Can i adjust the crossover freq. for the speakers on this or is it fixed? Can't find anything in the booklet for it.

Also, does anyone know what the cutoff is fixed at if it is fixed?

Chris,

I can't point you to a reference at the moment, but I am pretty sure I read that it is fixed at 100Hz.

It is fixed. I was disappointed to discover this because I purchased the 225 over the 325 (which does have an adjustable crossover) thinking that the only significant extras the 325 had over the 225 was the pre-outs and 6.1 capability. I don't have a sub yet, but will probably be buying one soon and I am guessing I will regret not having the crossover adjustment.

Does the new AVR-230 come with an adjustable crossover? I wasn't able to find much info on that for the 230... but it looks like a big upgrade from the 225.

Yep, the 230 has the adjustable triple X-over management(front, center and surround), 7.1 pre outs, 6.1 processing and Component video switching. Much better feature set than the 225.
