HK and Ascend Accoustics (1 Viewer)

Would a Harmon Kardon AVR230 work well with 4 cbm-170s and 1 cmt-340c? It's 50wpc at 8ohms. It doesn't say what it's rated at for 4 ohms, which the ascend accoustics use. Or if it will even run at 4 ohms. Is $499 a good price for it? Is $599 an even better price for the dpr1001?

Either HK would work well.

The Ascend speakers are 4 ohm nominal....8 ohms average. So you will have no problems at all with either receiver.

Where can you get that DPR1001 for $599?

Wow! That's a great price. Like Curtis said, make sure they are an authorized dealer to avoid warrantee issue headaches

I just checked. They are an factory authorized dealer. Everything they sell comes w/ the full manufacturer's warranty.

I'm using my HK525 as a pre/pro right now. Slimming down to a DPR1001 sounds like an enticing idea!
