I've been reading all the past posts for an hour and all I'm looking for is a clear concise guide to tweaking the lastest Hitachi WX series RP Televisions. I've got a 57TWX20B coming tomorrow and I'm having trouble piecing together all the tips and tricks on it.

Hasn't someone compiled a concise guide for:

1) Recommended setting out of the box prior to burn in to get the picture half-way decent, including specific recommendations on settings for DVD, and settings for cable TV viewing.

2) How to perform the red push fix.

3) How to perform the electrostatic focus (I know the least about this)

4) How the AVIA ISF calibration program fits into all this (when do you use it related to all these other tweaks?)

A comprehensive guide/clarification would be enormously appreciated. Considering the popularity of these new TV's, I would expect someone, somewhere would have posted a comprehensive document on a web site somewhere.

Help!

I suggest you take a peek at this thread.

With nearly 25,000 views, I assume it's the most detailed Hitachi SWX/TWX/XWX tweak thread out there. Excellent stuff.

I have. I love the picture on the Hitachi swx. However, I am always fiddling with the color in Avia. I looked at my friends Sony 57-500 and the colors seemed dead on, put the picture was quite grany.

I'm going to have the Hitachi calibrated in the near future.

Well...

Calibration is the way to go if your looking for color improvement

Colors are effected/based upon grayscale.. and fixing your grayscale will fix your colors.

This is somthing you need to hire an ISF guy for

Thanks! Know any good ISF techs in the Raleigh, NC area?

The main problem is flesh tones. They are not bad, but always seem to have a hint of red.

Stephen,
I have the 57swx20b and he told me he has done a number of them and that they are very receptive to calibration. I've read a few customer's reviews to date and everyone has been thrilled with his work. I'm counting the weeks until he arrives.
