Highest quality picture "adult film" on DVD? (1 Viewer)

I finally set up my new LCD projector and 100 inch screen, and people are impressed with it, but sooner or later, everyone asks: "So, have you watched PORNO on this thing?"

That got me thinking. What is generally regarded as the highest quality picture of any adult film? I would assume the Playboy videos have a higher quality than some home-made handheld camera video, but are there any adult films in high-quality widescreen anamorphic?

I've heard Dream Quest is good, though non-anamorphic. Just don't get those 4-5 hour compilations. They look like crap. Also, the content usually mostly sucks.

Here's my recommendation-- avoid a movie called "Homey In a Haystack" like the plague. It's unintentionally hilarious and it even goes out of sync about halfway through. Imagine "Witness" but filmed in Oxnard and full of bad hard-core porn featuring a guy who looks like Ol' Dirty Bastard with an Amish beard. I bought this used (!) for my brother's bachelor party. It truly was the perfect film for the moment-- absolutely horrible and gut-bustingly funny for all the wrong reasons.

Forbidden Tales, staring Tera Patrick from Digital Playground has some terrific looking scenes and some nice locations in Budapest. You might check out the Island Fever films Patrick did. I haven't seen them, but they were shot on location at waterfalls and such...should look great. She certainly does.

If you want porno stuff just to show off to other people, for laughs alone it's worth checking out the "Virtual Sex" DVD series from Digital Playground. Not widescreen, but they are in 5.1 (not that it would matter). This takes advantage of DVD's interactivity by giving you a girl (you can buy titles with Jenna Jameson or Tera Patrick, to name a couple), and then as you watch, you get to choose between sexual positions (or foreplay acts), mood (nice or naughty), and press a button to trigger the orgasm. They also don't really show the guy; the idea is for you to watch it and pretend that you're the one sleeping with the porn star. It's good for a laugh, although I can't imagine anyone seriously getting one of those discs and sitting there pretending that they're sleeping with the television.

Who's going to be paying attention to what the dvd sounds like when there's so much action going on in front of you, Unless you are a worse DTS geek than a porno perve. Anamorphic is important though, the wrong aspect ratio on a porno film can create some anomalies of enormous proportions.
