Fox stereo dialogue was really terrific. Of course it required proper equipment and settings.
If you are having issues, I suggest trying to find the right balance among the 3 front speakers.
It really helps if you have identical speakers on all 3 front channels. Original equipment was typically 3 Altec Voice of the Theater speakers. Today we generally have a different speaker in the middle for dialogue.
