on my sub (JBL PB8) there is a high level in and out speaker jacks what are theses used for. the manual was unclear but do they have something to do with connecting the mains to the sub?
You connect your receiver to your sub and then from the sub to the mains. You set your crossover on your sub to a certain frequency (probably 80hz). This allows you to play your mains as large and the lower bass gets directed to your sub. Mainly used for stereo use.
They are there for people who don’t have a line-level subwoofer output. The connection is made with the speaker wiring instead, out from the amp to the sub, then from the sub to the main L/R speakers. If you have line-level, use it – it’s always best.
