Some of my favorite speakers brands are: JMLab, Kharma, Dali, Amphion, Von Schweikert, Triangle, Opera, Tetra, Dynaudio, ATC, Verity Audio, System Audio, and Totem. I also really like REL subwoofers.

For Speakers I would echo what Scott said in regards to JM Labs and Dynaduio. Now I must admit, I like Wilson Audio as well even though they are very expensive. Like I said on another post, I also liked Monitor Audio when I heard them. The Totem's I heard at the HE2004 show were good as well.

Mishal, your friend could also look @ Paradigm for some entry-level (Performance line) all the way up to high-end (Signature line)

You did say high end, didn't you? For some of the more commercial stuff,I'd say:

    McIntosh
    Krell
    Lexicon
    Classe'
    Halcro
    Parasound
    Aerial Acoustics
    Wilson
    B&W
    Velodyne
    JL Audio

And this really doesn't even begin to scratch the surface.

    Mishal, likewise [IMG]

I'd also look at some of the new generation of digital amplification coming out - PSAudio, Acoustic-Reality, TacT Audio.

like rutgar says, whatever we mention here will barely scratch the surface - but a glance on these (and other audio/HT) forums will reveal what brands are popular etc.

Then there are some products like Anthony Gallos to consider for your customers who need to preserve some interior design - a lot of people will have HTs in their mail living area for the family.
