I currently have a regular small dish with a single, dual-output LNB. The two lines are connected to a 2 x 4 multiswitch in the house which in turn feed two dual-tuner DirecTV receivers with TiVo. I'd like to upgrade the dish and buy an additional receiver to take advantage of the High Def feeds on DirecTV. If the new dish is installed, are the two cables that presently run into the house enough, or are additional cable runs necessary? I know there is some sort of multiswitch configuration on the dish itself, but I have not been able to locate specific info. Thanks very much for your assistance!

The dish will either have a multi-switch integrated into the LNB mounting arm or one mounted on the back of the dish. Most have four outputs.

You will need four cables coming into the house. After that, you have some choices to make. Do you want all receivers to be able to get programming on 119 (the sat with HD, NASA, RFD & Para Todos)? The easy answer is no. Mount the new dish and run four lines from the new dish/switch combo. Run two to your existing switch. Run one to your new HD receiver and leave the other one just in case you get another receiver. The DirecTivos get the same programming as before. The new receiver gets all the regular programming plus NASA, RFD and HD. If that isn't an acceptable setup, post back and we can get a little more complicated.
