my initial thoughts on Heroes I will be tuning in.
I'll be there tonight. This one will probably get a bit more leeway to find itself since there is nothing else on Monday at 9.
Kids will be in Bed early, the wife will be tired and I'll be downstairs watching this baby.
THAT WAS GREAT!!!!!!!! Hope the entire season is like this, the twists, especially with the brothers, well won't say any more, I am hooked.
So the sun is directly overhead in New York and Japan at the same moment (the eclipse?) oooookay. It would be nice to see an intelligent superhero show for once. But this will have to do.
I know. But there was an arguably worse mistake in the pilot of The 4400, yet that turned out to be a very good show, so... I'll give this one a pass for now. -- H
eh okay, nothing special.......
Very uneven pilot IMO and like Holadem stated it lacks scope. That Japanese kid is far too imature for this kind of power, he acts like a Trekky who just so happened to aquire the ability to warp time and space. He needs to do some serious growing up and hope that he does so over the course of the show. Also, what's the deal with Ali Larter's power? She has an evil reflection? Is this foreshadowing that she will eventually become a super villain? The one who seems to have a realistic reaction to her powers is the blonde who ran into the fire, her power is very cool, too. I like the previews for next week, too, looks very interesting if they follow that. I'll check it out a few more times, it has promise, I just wasn't that impressed with the pilot. BTW, check out the gore level! They show a guy completely cut in half! I did a double-take when they showed that.
Less that impressed. However, it is part I of a 2 part pilot and there isn't anything else on Monday at 9. And to be fair my attention was divided about three different ways. I'll re-watch it tomorrow night on the replay. And probably give it a couple weeks to get there.
The first 20 minutes was painful to watch... just awful. However, I stuck it out thinking to myself, "it has to get better than this". Thankfully, it started to get interesting and definitely shows some promise. I'll be tuning in next week.
I really liked it. Keep in mind that I really WANTED to like it, though.
Inspector Hammer, your side picture is from Trilogy of Terror, correct. That little doll scared the living s__t out of me up to the age of 25. Again I thought Heroes had some good scenes and the Cheerleader's reaction to her power was probably the better reaction, but remember she's the only one that is fully aware of her power other than the guy in Japan, his reaction and the time he spent explaining as oppose to showing his friend, well I have to admit left a little bit to be desired.
Yep, Jerome, that would be the one and only Zuni Fetish Warrior doll from that classic film. Regarding the show, I did appreciate that they kept the Japanese dialogue in Japanese rather than having them speaking english like in some movies and shows, it did lend a sense of realism to it.
But why does his clock have Chinese numbers on it?
I haven't the foggiest idea lol.
Maybe he got it in China?
Thought it was ok. I guess the stripper is a Jekyll and Hyde type character.
Yes, can someone explain what power Ali "stripper/hooker with a heart of gold cliche" Larter is supposed to have? They go through great lengths explaining everyone but they leave the one with almost the most running time vague??? I see some potential but it looked very low budget, and if they don't throw it all up there in the pilot, when will they ever? Flying as a power, impressive - floating... not so much.
Actually, flying by itself isn't so great, you can't do anything really meaningful with flying by itself. Sure it would be fun to be able to fly, but you couldn't really be a superhero if that's all you could do.
Maybe her alter-ego only shows up if there are mirrors in the room, and becomes corporeal when she's asleep or unconscious.
