Here2Fix warranty experiences? (1 Viewer)

I'm considering buying a digital camera from Buy.com and I was reading their extended warranty info, which is provided through Here2Fix. Has anybody had any experience with repairing items through Here2Fix?

I don't usually buy extended warranties, but on a somewhat fragile item like a digital camera, I figure roughly $15/year might cover my daughter dropping the camera or something unexpected.

Opinions?

Kevin,

First dropping your camera or your daughter dropping it is not covered so if this is your only worry then it will not do you any good to get the warranty. Warranties for the most part cover only manufacture defects and do not cover wear and tear. Save your money, get a good product, and "If" the product ever needs repairs then pay for it.

OK, I guess I didn't give a good example for a repair. I'm planning on buying a good camera, probably the Canon S30, which is a pretty sturdy camera. My point is, IF something suddenly quit working, and I needed repair, is Here2Fix's service worth it?

I've heard of people having to pay hundreds of dollars for repairs on their cameras, which obviously wouldn't be feasible when you're spending $400 on a camera.

No experience with that company. However some extended warranties do cover wear and tear.
