I ported the post below from the Here (2024) existing thread.

I put off seeing "Here" until last night because of so many unenthusiastic comments. We had 5 viewers and everyone was stunned by the conclusion.

First some caveats. It's hokey and sentimental, but if you like Christmas, Halloween and July 4th...you will be charmed as most of us fully embrace these annual events.
Second, each overlapping story is set in a fairly conventional course through life...and so life goes for most all of us. This familiarity makes viewers examine their own path in a very deep way.

It reminded me of childhood comfort films like...Pal's Time Machine and 7 Faces of Dr Lao...that kind of fantastical exploration of human phyche.

Mix that with the sentiments and technical wizardry of Disney's Carrousel of Progress. The attractions uncanny ability to seduce a broad audience into pondering what's going to happens next has continued for over 60 years now. Like that surreal anamatronic show, "Here" takes its time building a relationship with the audience. When that has been accomplished, "Here" explodes with a heart felt "meaning of life" conclusion impossible to resist.

Still hoping for a 4K somewhere in the world, as it is a definite disc buy for me. In the mean time 4 people are returning tonight before my 48 hr rental window expires!
Be forewarned, I also melt at the conclusion of Polar Express!
