Tivoli Audio has introduced PAL, a portable battery operated AM-FM radio. The radios are now shipping, I should have mine by next week. Will report on it then.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is revolutionary or great
    about it? Just curious..
Is it a "status" thing? Because it is sitting beside a set
    of Porsche keys [IMG]

It's not revolutionary per se but it has a special FM tuner that gets more stations then even $2000 high end tuners. (Uses cellphone technology amongst other proprietary things). It has a 2 1/2 inch speaker that gives an amazing amount of undistorted sound with a palpable bass that defies its size. it has a NimH recharable battery that averages 16 hours of play. The battery recharges in less then 3 hours and can be topped off (it won't lose its charge capacity after many charges like other ones.) Also if you plug in headphones, the FM band will give you stereo if broadcast that way. It's quite small and has a rubberized feel. Like all Henry Kloss designs of the past and present, it almost defies logic as to what it sounds like. Or, to use an old phrase "you've got to hear it to believe it". Here's a typical review:

    Cool Thanks for the info..
being an AR fanatic I am familiar with the man.. But I have
not heard any of his recent radios like the Model 1 but I
have heard people rave about them.
I may just have to take a listen one of these days [IMG]
