i'm trying to help my friend do a little setup in his basement. I need a receiver that will input a cd player, dvd player, ps2, and input from his computer. i'd also like it to have an extra av input as well as an extra audio input just incase anything is ever added in the future. There only needs to be two outputs, an output going to the tv, and an output going to an external sub amp.

we arent looking to do an extensive setup, and nothing too high priced either. just something simple. something around the 200 dollar price range would be great, but a little more is fine

The output to the TV is Video right?

With multi-channel as opposed to 2 channel, there is no real good way to get sound back to the display itself. Most all will have a line level sub out channel though.

Would be a convenient feature though.. A deidicated two channel down mixed output, active from every source.

now that i think of it, i dont think it'll even be necessary to get the audio signal to the tv, because he'll just mute it anyways. it is possible to bring the cable for cable tv into a receiver and then out put the video signal to the tv, right?

as for the SA xr-50, what site has them? i'll check them out
