Hi everyone.....

I'm having a bit of a problem working my WinDVD 4 Plus player along with an Audigy Platinum Soundcard -- the player doesn't seem to even notice the presence of the card, and any DTS track I play back sounds distorted, almost like its trying to decode the DTS track with DD.

I can't seem to get any help from Intervideo (their tech support department seems to be one person), and I'm getting VERY angry that I'm having problems with a $70 product.

Can anyone offer me some help?

There are a couple of things that could be causing you a problem. Drivers, audio and video, make sure you have the newest ones for both the audigy and your video card (Nvidia and Audigy don't get along too good). Make sure the correct output is set, whether digital spdif/analog out in both Audio HQ and in WinDVD. Make sure that your speakers in Windows are 5.1 and in surround setup for the audigy are also 5.1. What kind of setup do you have, computer speakers/receiver, monitor/projector, processor, ram? Hope this helps.

I have an Audigy Platinum soundcard hoooked to Creative FourPointSurround speakers (using a digital out 1/8" SPD-IF connection), an ATI AIW 7500, 17" Flatscreen monitor, and 800 MHz Pentium III.

I am guessing you have the FPS2000 digital series FourPoint speakers since you said through the digital hookup. Make sure that in the Audigy Surround Mixer you have the box clicked digital out only and also check off digital spdif out in WinDVD. Does this only happen in DTS movies? Hope this helps.
