Ok I have these not so great KLH audio. The have a pair of course. But recently one of the woofers went out and so I am going to replace them. I wanted to replace them with other speakers instead of stock. Could some one offer some advice.

The specs for my current floor tower are as follows:
# Dual 6-1/2" Woofers w/Polymer Treated Fiber Cones
# 1" Soft Dome Tweeter with Ferrofluid
# 2-Way Ported Design
# Magnetically Shielded
# Black Cloth Removable Grills
# Frequency Response: 40 Hz to 20 kHz
# Sensitivity: 87 dB @ 1W - 1M
# Crossover: LC Type
# Suggested Amplifier Power: 5 to 200 Watts per Channel
# Impedance: 8 Ohms Average
# Connectors: 5-Way Gold Binding Posts
# Warranty: 5 Years Limited Parts/Labor
# Weight: 62.5 Lbs.
# UPC No.: 048331-02991-8
# No. of Speakers: One Pair (2 Each)
# Dimensions: 36-3/4"H x 8-15/16"W x 12-9/16"D

I just copy pasted cause not sure what information is needed or not needed. Any help would be greaty appreciated.

If you are expecting a great improvement in sound, don't get your hopes up. The speaker's cross-over was designed based on the parameters of the drivers and the cabinet they are in. Change anything and the cross-over needs to be adjusted as well. Get a replacement driver from KLH.

If these are low quality speakers with a generic cross-over, then you won't hurt anything with your experiment. But remember, it is an experiment and nothing more. There's always a chance that it will sound worse.

For replacement speakers, check out Parts Express or Madisound.

Just wanted to post again. The experiment worked bought 4 Eosone speakers. They sound better and didn't burn out the cross-over :)
