After a few months trying to finish my HT setup I'm up to the calibration point.
I have Digital Video Essentials and I'm getting the SPL meter today.
I know this been a long fdiscussion already. I read a lot of threads about this but is there any complete reference step by step on how to do this calibration?
Should I use the DVE or the test tones of my AVR520?

Thanks a lot

VE has its own step by step menu.

A quick adjustment through your test tones will give you a rough idea of where your setup should be for your speakers.
What can't be adjusted with just the test tones are your subwoofer, phase checks, room anomolies (buzzes etc.) and video display adjustments.

Using the VE disc will help fine tune. Enjoy the final settings by watching something that you enjoy the soundtrack on. When setup properly, subtle changes are more noticeable.

what about speaker delay? Should I do that measuring the distance to the speakers position like on the AVR520 manual states? Or DVE has a better method?
