Help with pops & clicks at end of track... (1 Viewer)

I've obtained some MP3 files with pops and clicks on the very end of the tracks which I would like to remove. Are there any good (preferrably freeware) programs which I can use to shorten the tracks by a second or fraction thereof to cut off the pop & click?

What I do now is convert it to a wav file, then edit out whatever I want to, then I reconvert it to an MP3.

A buddy of mine as a program, MP3DirectCut 1.19 that does what you want, I just never got around to using it, even though it's free and only 65kb big. Hmmm, now that I'm actually looking at the link I'm sorta interested in how good it will work.
