I have just purchased the Sony XP-57XBR10W set with the Sony DSS Dish and HDTV Reciever.
A- Is this a good set?
B- Am I set for the next few years as far as the standards go?
C- Anyone think I should get another type of RPTV?????
    Thanks Guys!!!

Sony has their new line of hdtv ready sets on their site. If I'm not mistaken Sony's current line of hi scan rptv's only have one component input that can handle 480p/1080i. This may become an issue if want to connect both progressive scan dvd and hdtv. The new models will have 2 hi scan component inputs which will give you some flexiblity. You may want to consider these if its not too late.

The lack of Hi-Def inputs has certainly gotten me a little upset! Also the reviews of the toshiba models!!!
Where can you find a "Component" Video Switcher?
    Does such a thing exsist???

There are a few component switchers(a little pricey too) available but I don't know any of the links, sorry. More and more receivers are adding component switching to the list of features but not all can pass a hd signal.

I don't know if you'll be set for a few years or not as far as standards go.
The MPAA (thanks to the old geazer Jack Valenti), the digital interfaces like DVI and FireWire, and the copy protection schemes are as hard to pin down as a greased pig.
