I know this is a question that has alot of variables to it , but can someone give me a fairly close estimate of how far a projector will have to be from the screen if I am going to have a 92" screen? Also, approx. how far should it hang down from the ceiling if the ceiling will be about 7'5" high finished? I am trying to figure seating arrangements out now and the info will help me alot!

    Thank you,
    Curt

    Greetings

Depends on if the projector is a long throw or short throw unit.

I get 92 inches from 13 feet ... (short throw)

    Regards

I'm 11 feet back from my 92" screen and the general rule of thumb for height is that 1/3 up from the bottom should be at eye level.

    There's some handy links here

My projector gets 100" from 10.5' - 12.5' which is also a short throw. (Sony 11HT)

If you are trying to preplan a mounting location, you had better first decide which projector you are going to get obviously.
