    Hey,
I have a Denon 3803. I have been watching DTS disks with no problems for the last few days. I just threw in a regular Dolby Digital DVD and am unable to get it to play back in Dolby Digital for some reason. The Reciever only wants to decode it as Pro-Logic II. I have tried multiple 5.1 DD disks and I am having the same problem. Any ideas? Very frustrated. Thanks.

I just realized that the same question (almost) is being asked in the thread right below me. Oops. Any ideas should just get added to that one. Sorry for the confusion.

Make sure the DVD player is correctly configured to audio output STREAM/PCM (that way you'll get both DD and DTS)otherwise you could be getting only DTS. On the 3803 Setup make sure the Auto Surround Mode is set to ON. Finally push the button that says INPUT-MODE on the remote until AUTO is selected.

    Hope that helps.
