Help? trying to figure out what/how much lumens is needed? (1 Viewer)

Completely new to home theater....moved into a home with family that probably had a very expensive home theater room from 1999-2000.

Here's the scoop:

current projector is mounted approx. 12' from screen (old zenith 3-gun type deal.....looks heavy and massive)
screen is Da-Lite that measures basically 96 x52, I guess this adds up to approx 106" diagonal
furniture is situated at same distance...basically 12', possibly closer to 14-16' from screen

I am trying to be as cost conscious as possible and do what I can myself. Looking for a low cost, good picture 1080p projector as I have a brand new sony bdp-s350 blu ray to connect, still need the a/v receiver.

any thougths and rec's given my distance and room....no need for more details, all custom controllable lights, cabinets, etc.

Epson Cinema UB is a nice one for $2500. If it needs to be cheaper and
1080p look at craigslist and pray.
