Have any you tried to play a DTS Multi-channel music CDs with this player? I am unable to get my Onkyo 777 to decode its output from DTS music CDs (DTS DVDs work fine thou). I was wondering if you have any or have tried and been successful. If so how?

Thanks,

You cannot decode the DTS on DTS CDs, it has to be passed digtally via PCM.

Are you playing DVDs via analog or digital? From your post, it sounds like you are using analog. If digital, and standard CDs work, it should work fine.

I'm playing it digitally via coax cable, my old Pioneer played the DTS multichannel music CDs find with my Onkyo automatically detecting the bit stream as DTS. With the Toshbia 3960 I just get digital noise. I guess the 3960 isn't passing something properly via the bit stream?

I've already tried setting it to DTS on the Onkyo, I've also tired RAW and PCM on the digital audio out on the Toshiba.

Anyone else have luck?

Paul
