Starting to put a budget home theater together. I think I have picked out my speakers (Thanks to Martino) Energy Take 5.1 Classic - $399.00 http://www.amazon.com/Energy-Classic-Theater-System-Black/dp/B001202C44 Martino recommended this receiver DENON AVR-1312 5.1 Channel A/V Home Theater Receiver http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/DENAVR1312/DENON-AVR-1312-5.1-Channel-A/V-Home-Theater-Receiver/1.html The problem is that I need to find a receiver with more connection options. I need at least 3 composite cable connections, 2 component connections, and at least 4 hdmi ports. Network capability would be nice as well. I am rather limited in my budget, as I want to spend 600 or less. This is going in a small room for now as I build the theater. Does anyone have recommendations? Thanks

Do you really have nine components to connect? I have to wonder if that is really true. Also, network capabilities is an extremely vague term. Anyway, you may have to go refurb. Accessories4less.com has Marantz SR6005 and SR5006 in refurb in the price range. Personally, I'd go 6005 between the two.

The Yamaha 671 provides the desired connections and network capabilities (internet radio, connection to PC/NAS) for approximately $550 new. I had trouble with the Marantz 1602 reliably connecting to my NAS. The Yamaha has not given me any problems.

I can't attest to network capabilities or reliability on any receivers. I use AppleTVs and leave it at that.

Marantz is a better receiver but the Pioneer 1121 probably has everything you need (or maybe not  ) and is $449 new at Newegg.com. $399 last weekend I think. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/ephox/StaticFiles/PUSA/Files/VSX-1121-K%20Single%20Sheet.pdf Check Ac4l.com for more refurbished Denons (2312) and Onkyo's (709). http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/category/AVReceiver/Home-Audio/Home-Theater-Receivers/1.html

I have decided to open up the wallett a bit more, found this receiver http://www.accessories4less.com/make-a-store/item/ONKTXNR809/Onkyo-TX-NR809-7.2-Channel-Network-A/V-Receiver/1.html and start it as a 5.1 until I move it into a larger room.

That receiver needs better speakers than those little Take Classics. This stuff can add up in a hurry if you're not carefull.
