Help talk me into or out of buying the 34HFX84 this week end! (1 Viewer)

Well I had all but made up my mind to buy this set.

I have not gotten the chance to see on as no local dealer has gotten one in store. However my local dealer can order one for me and get in in 3 days from there Toronto office.

I was all but sold when I read on another forum about a dozen or more people unhappy with it. Geometry issues and more.

Has anyone here seen one? If I should skip this set what should I get.

In essence what is the best 34" 16:9 tube available right now?

supposedly, the best 34" tube is going to be any of the sony's, particularly the XBR model. this is just regarding picture quality.

well picture quality is all that really matters. In the past I was not impressed by Sony's tubes. I felt I was staring through a mosquito net, lines and lines!

Has this improved? Anyone else agree or disagree?
