I have a mirage LF100 sub woofer in my entry level HT. At high volume levels, the sub seems to have a rattling noise that is clearly audible. I have made sure that nothing in the room was vibrating and When I started knocking on the wooden case of the subwoofer, It makes that rattling noise.

I was able to reproduce this with the avia disk also. Do you know of any problems with the lf100 and since I am still in the 30 days and have 2 options

1. Return and get another mirage of the same kind to see if mine is a defective unit. ( Cost : $275 )
2. Upgrade to a better sub in the $ 300- 400 range.

What would you recommend ? For your reference, I have the mirage avs500 5 speaker package with a yamaha rxv2200

Uday,
Return it for a new unit. This seem to be just a defective unit. If you are not still satisfied with a new/good unit, may be you can consider upgrade.
