Hello All,
I'm looking to get a new poweramp to power a pair of Paradigm Studio 100s. After buying the speakers I don't have too many more funds left to buy a killer amp. After doing some research I've narrowed it down to the Rotel or the Parasound. Both make a good ~200/wpc amp right around $1000. I was wondering if anyone has any thoughts or suggestions. I've had rotel in the past and have been very happy with it... but I've heard good things about parasound as well.
Please Advise.

Mike:
I have the Paradigms and the Rotel 1095 (i think- 200 wpc/5 channel)
Could not beleive the difference when I went from my Yammie 995 as amp to the Rotel. REALLY opened it up. I really think they are a great pair, and work well together. At least to my ear!
Have fun!

I run my Studio 100's with Parasound Monoblocks... 150 Watts each....
A few weeks ago, I picked up a Rotel 2 Channel, 200 Watts each Amp.. I think it was the #991.... I was looking to improve my soundstage a bit.....
I was very disappointed with the audio performance... This amp was a lot less warmer sounding, compared to my Parasounds......
I also tried the amp with my Studio 40's.... With those speakers, I use a Parasound HCA 1000 125W..... I was also not very happy with this setup, so back the amp went for a full refund....
I highly recommend Parasound...... They match the Paradigm Studio line like a glove!!!

I don't think you can go wrong with either Rotel or Parasound amps but I do have a preference for Parasound products designed by John Curl.

I have essentially the same setup as Steven...Paradigm Studio 40's and a Parasound 1500A 205w Stereo Power Amp.
The combo works incredibly, Great sound and oodles of power to spare. For the price it's at now I think the Parasound 1500A is THE BEST 200w Stereo Amp in that range, hands down.

Mike_Reznik,
I have used the Parasound Mono amps made by (SoundStream)
with my 100's also, they are great.
Now I use them with my 60's and 20's
As Steve stated.
The Mono amps sound very nice with the Paradigms.
Send me an email as I have a few extra's I do not need.
And you will still have $600+ of that $1k to save for the killer amp later if you wish.
Mod's feel free to edit or delete, if you feel my offer crossed the the line for this topic, as it was not intent
do so.

Until 2 months ago I had the Studio 100's, CC, ADP's and Active 20's with a Servo 15a sub. The 100's and the CC were driven at first by Parasound 2003 then I bought the Parasound 2205at.Both were very nice with the Paradigms. Both seem to really take control of the bass and bring it a little more forward and the highs were more airy if that makes sense.I had been running them first with a DSP-A1 and then a RX-V1 these were no comparison with the Parasounds.I can not comment on the Rotel but from all I've read they are a great amp to! You can't go wrong with either. I had a Citation 7.1 but found the Parasounds sounded better to me. Try and demo both or buy both then return the one that doesn't trip your trigger. Good Luck! Steve
