I have a Classe SSP-50 arriving within a few days, via Audiogon. I don't have balanced cables yet, and would like to order some asap so I'm not caught without them when the pre-pro arrives.

My question is this: How do the XLR cables for the two main channels need to be terminated - male or female? It looks like the cables require a male XLR jack, but its difficult to be 100% sure from photos available on the web and Classe tech support has not responded yet.

Thanks,
Larry

there will be one male end and one female end. they will only fit one way so it's not that hard to hook up. i suggest looking here as they seem to have some of the best prices going for balanced cables barring just going down to your local guitar shop. enjoy the new classe!

I'm not convinced that the cable needs one male and one female. You can buy different configuraitons. My bryston amp needs a male connector. Photos of the Classe *appear* to show that it requires a male connector also, but I want a Classe owner to tell me so I am sure.

Those cables look interesting, but I'm probably going to go the blue jeans cables route.
