HELP!! Problem with RPTV...... (1 Viewer)

My father has a 1993 RCA 60" RPTV. While talking him he stated that he was having problems with his television. He said that there is a black horizontal bar approximately 4 to 6 inches wide that extends all the way across the television. He said that this bar is approximately 6 inches from the bottom of the television. Any idea what could be causing this problem. He would like to salvage the tv if possible.

No idea on the cause, but most likely the fix will cost more than the set is worth.

A life span on a RPTV around 10 years.
