About 15 years ago I saw a film with my dad that was on AMC during the Memorial Day weekend. Every once in a while the only scene I remember pops into my head, and it did so again today. I figured I would try to actually find out what film it was from.

The film, from my recollection, was a WW2-era black and white Hollywood production. The scene I remember is that there is a mine field that has stalled the progression of the troops. A reckless soldier decides to navigate his own truck through the mine field on his own. He safely navigates through it, to the cheers of his fellow soldiers, only to exit the car by jumping off of the truck and landing on a mine.

Can anyone help me out here? And if you know the film, is it available on DVD?

    Thanks in advance!

Hmmm.... no one finds the scene described as the least bit familiar?
